Sometimes Our Dogs know better!

We had someone come to the house tonight for business purpuses and relayed there was a dog in the driveway.

I went out and found a Female Pit bull looking like she was nursing. I quickly attached her to a chain and called the number on her tag. (NO RESPONSE) but left a message that we had her contained. In the mean time I gave her several treats and made sure she had water.

When I brought out the water, my 4 year old Doberman bolted past me and attacked. He was in the kill mode as he cannot stand pit bulls. My son ran out and picked my Dobe off of the ground putting him back inside.

I finally had a return call from the owner....she was furious I had not given an address......Stating that the county was ready to put the dog down if it was ever reported loose again.

I didn't tell her my Dobe was so mad he bit her on her butt and drew blood.

Apparently my Dobe knew better than I. So much for being a good neighbor.....

Maybe she should be more careful and keep her dog inside, or chained in the yard..... stupid dipshit. Some people should NEVER own an animal. And she was angry with you?... she should be thankful you didn't call the humane society...the dog would surely have been put down then, because of it's owner's stupidity.

Have you called and reported this to animal control?

My neighbors boxer would come into our yard and attack my children. This dog was allready on record for dragging a kid off his bike, and the owner was required to keep the dog in a completely inclosed area, whick of course she was not doing. I finally was able to get animal control out to my house once when the dog was roaming free (it usually took them a looong time to get there). And the dog was captured and dragged to the animal control truck with one of those loops on a stick ( it took two of them). Before AC showed up I was trying to get pics of the dog running loose, and the owner came over and started shoving me around, so I called the cops too. Strangely enough when the police showed up, they ended up draggin the owner away in pretty much the same fashion.

My point is, it usually takes more then one incident before AC can get involved, so every incident really needs to be reported. This woman obviously doesn't have control of her dog.

BTW, I love pit bulls and would have no problem with owning one with children around, they are intelligent loyal dogs. The problem is the owner, it's always the owner. If you can't control an animal, you should not own one. I don't have a clue as to how to control or handle a black mamba snake, therefore I have no business owning one!

How rude of her! Disgraceful. I hate pit bulls anyway.
