So maybe this has been covered but why would the WTS sell the properties for approx. the same amount as the settlement?
are they selling the properties to appear cash-poor
i mean 40 mil is pocket change for them isnt it?

I suspect that for a long long time the WTBTs has had offshore 'hidden' accounts squirrelled away.
What an interesting paper chase that would make for the IRS/ Tax authorities all around the world.

How do you know what the total settlement was?
I have yet to hear or read an official total. I am aware of a non disclosure clause. I have heard in an unofficial way that the settlement was significant. But that is all.

No I dont know what the settlement was, I thought it would be approx that ammount, the properties theyre selling amount to 65mil? so im guessing theres a ballpark.
