Prayer on a Dare

My prayers are on a roll lately, and I believe God wouldn't be too upset if I laid out my request list, as a special favor for an athiest friend of mine. I have reason to be confident, beyond the regular faith thing. I've had some important prayers answered lately.

I'd prayed fervently that Dansk's family be restored to him. check

I prayed that my son shake his drug habit and have a safe place to live. check so far. He's come a long, long way and I am so terribly proud of him. He is now three month's clean, finishes a treatment program this Thursday, and I will be driving him to his new home.

So here they are, my latest requests. The dare part is putting it "out there" so the board can see, athiest and all, if God will answer.

Ozzie receive some of his children back.

Blondie and Irreverent receive a firm diagnosis of her illness.

My athiest friend will acknowledge an awesome answer to prayer. For some reason, God likes the guy.

Nice idea....................I dont pray anymore so should I do this myself or ask you to do it...........

My request is that the parents of Madeleine McCann have her returned to them alive and physically well...........or is that too much to ask

Very daring jgnat, but I'll add my 'Amen' to your prayers

and to yours too fifi. Whether Madeleine is returned or not, I'm certain that some good will come from this in raising the profile of the plight of hundreds of thousands of unnamed children who go missing each year - some never to be seen again for various reasons which I won't elaborate.

God sometimes answers prayers with 'no' or 'wait'

I have prayed for two people on this site. I will include Blondie in my prayers.

I'm so glad for you, your family and your son. It's the worst feeling when your child struggles.

I have prayed so long for my son who is struggling. He's smoking pot so it doesn't help his depression or his lack of motivation. But I am thankful that he's been working and for the past month it's been full time. He is on time and doesn't miss any days. That's quite an accomplishment considering that he wouldn't work at first.

Baby steps, Guest, baby steps. Does your son know that pot is a depressant?

Thanks for the amens and the prayers, all.

    Greetings jgnat,

I'm happy to hear that things are looking up for your son. I have been in your position as a parent. No better news than what you've shared!
My own prayer dare is that I pray for things that the WT has categorically said, in all their wisdom, that I cannot pray for. Well, just watch me! I don't do it to be contrary but only because no person nor religious entity dare encroach upon my relationship with God. If He wants to say no or part my hair with lightning, that's His prerogative.

    Nice thread - thank you!
