Deception detected

As a dub when people told me "you are not Christians" I didn't believe it for a moment since JWs accept that Jesus is their saviour. One day I suddenly realised that this belief is pointless since not participating in the New Covenant made one in essence not a christian.

The JWs are perhaps the only religion out there who believe that there are two classes of Christians one of which is not part of the Covenant. Not that the so called anointed class act as if they really believe Jesus is their head even to them their direct head is jehovah. A strange idea since in the NT there is only one church and one body and not two. There is only one heavenly destination and no mention of an earthly destination.

When I think of it now I realise how ignorance allows big margins for deception. Anyone else had similar revealing realisations?

i cannot say that i have thought about it much... i think the religious conscience has escaped me... but i guess i can work on that!!! lol, but now that you have mentioned it, yes i do think that it is strange that the dubs think there are two different classes of christians... weird indeed...

ignorance leaves margin for deception... i very much like that quote... im going to use it... dont copyright or trademark it, ok?

    Gd,

Nope, I came to realize the WT did practice deception, but felt since nobody could be the exclusive "truth" and that God must not hold us accountable if we get a few doctrines wrong since it would be so hard to say which is really the correct understanding of the bible. I also came to the conclusion that it would be very unreasonable God to grant everlasting life, dependant on a high score of correct answers to a bible quiz, since that would mean condemnation for those not smart enough to do a very scholarly search of the bible. To me that would be very unfair and not very loving towards those not very educated or with mental handicaps like being retarted.

Eventually thru a more unbiased examination, I can to conclude very definately the bible god is just a myth, created by people in fear of a tribal diety who was not very loving, but instead extremely jealous, and petty. Everything came gradually, now I'm no longer in fear of this diety, or trying to get a better understanding of the conflicting ideas expressed in the bible as if my everlasting life depended on it.
