My brother Darin is starting his political career. He had to get so many petitions signed in order to get on the ballot.
He took a list of registered voters and went door to door collecting signatures.
One of the many things that sticks with him is the fact that just about everyone he called on had a "no soliciting" sign. He said they were very friendly with him, and mostly signed the petition. He said their biggest beef was with religious solicitors, especially JW's.
Apparently the next town over has some kind of effective ordinance that keeps the JW's out, what it is I dont know !!
They wanted him to relay their frustrations to the mayor. The mayor told these people that "we can't do that" "that's against their rights" These people in turn said "well the other town has it, why cant we?"
There is alot of anti-jw sentiment out there, I never figured there would be in that town, but there is.
My brother said everyone was very courteous to him, and everyone wanted to know if he would work to get a stricter "no soliciting" law passed. He assured them he would do his best.
In the meantime I have been doing alot of research for him on no soliciting laws, and have dug deeply into the Stratton vs.WTBTS case.
This could get interesting.

Thanks smellsgood, I have to be careful what I say on here, for the most part I have been keeping this all a secret. There are only 3 of us who know the plans right now, Darin, mom and me.
