How sad and Ironic for Roy Orbison on the day his song "Only the Lonely" is released (June 6) that his wife Claudette dies in a motorcycle crash.
Lyrics...
Only the lonely
Know the way I feel tonight
Only the lonely
Know this feeling ain't right
There goes my baby
There goes my heart
They're gone forever so far apart
But only the lonely
You know why I cry
Only the lonely...
Only the lonely
Know the heartaches I've been through
Only the lonely
Know I cry and cry for you
Maybe tomorrow a new romance
No more sorrow but that's the chance
You've got to take
If you're lonely heart breaks
Only the lonely...

Wow, Roy Orbison lost his wife that same date a few years later, that is truly ironic. I wonder whether he looked back and thought about it himself.
Doesn't look like much exciting stuff happened today in history -
the Vatican became an independent state in 1929,
in 1775 the United Colonies changed their name to the United States and the year after, Richard Lee moved the Declaration of Independence in Continental Congress.
Thank you, Dear Friends, for contributing to this thread. It is very much appreciated!
A good day to all.
