The NYT has a series of forums and one is devoted to religious issues, particularly in light of current events. It occurs to me that the WTS's recent actions provide an opportunity to generate discussion. Maybe if enough people post something it will get the NYT itself interested.....

ps: I also see that The Guardian has talkboards and one can start a discussion, again, after registering. Identities are kept private much like here. Maybe it is time to spread our wings a bit and start threads on the WTS and the UN; Publicize, Publicize, Publicize the Whore and her former beast - http://talk.guardian.co.uk/
I'm pretty sure most news sites and papers have a religious section. I try to get emails to them as soon as news hits re: any jw stuff.
MSNBC has a forum entitled "Future of Faith".

The Guardian talk board seems to be pretty active, so I guess it's worth a shot. To US posters, remeber that the method of showing the date of a post will be different in the UK, to day is 13/10/01, not 10/13/01.
