  that if we were immortal we would not have religion. Religion is a vehicle that tries to explain the unexplainable within our limited mortal lives.

  Would we be immortal because we were ''perfect'' (as in mind & body)?

  Don't you see difference in "being X" and "knowing that you are X" ? Religion is to inform you that you are immortal!
