I just got off the phone with my brother Darin, and he told me that he went to an influential republican meeting last night in Ohio. Darin is on the screening committee that chooses who the republican party will endorse in the upcoming elections. He said it was very interesting, and got to see and hear alot. A state senator was there, along with a couple of state representatives, the sheriff, and many others. Darin is involved with alot of groups and committees. Im so excited for him, and Im very proud of his accomplishments after leaving the cult.

I will be up there with him in 2 weeks to help him plan some campaign strategies.

The funny thing is--when I was in high school I became involved with politics, and my govt. teachers told me I had potential for politics. I should have pursued it further, but instead I started going to the meetings again.

Thanks Smellsgood, No actually this meeting was for state and local campaigns, mainly state house campaigns.

Actually since I found out that Fred Thompson isnt an atheist Im all for him now. I definitely have a problem voting for Romney.

Are you doing this for free?

I just hope we don't get anymore religous right wingers. I'm probably an inactive Anarchist, but refused to be put in any box, I can change on a dime.

Any way how do you feel about less government? And human rights to be free, and to be free from governmental encroachment in this area? The torture at Guantanamo, with out a fair trial?

Well I guess you could say Im a religious right winger.

As for smaller government Im all for it. I dont like alot of the "nanny" laws they are forcing on us.

As for guantanamo I dont know too much about it, so I cant say anything about that.

Oh come on Dave,,, what about McCain? I find him to be one of the only non-sissy politicians, and he's gotten way more done politically than Fred! I pretty much despise most politicians because they are always trying to be everything to everyone, but McCain seems to me to have an honesty about him that is rare. I can say I respect him, can't say that of many politicians.

"As for smaller government Im all for it."

I'm for smaller government like I'm for a second slice of pie. Government has a very specific role, not an all consuming one. It should fascilitate and get out of the way mostly.

I may have to eat my words for this, but I find McCain to be too wishy washy. However I could vote for him when the time comes.

Fred Thompson seems to have that presidential aura about him, he's very straight laced, no nonsense kind of guy.
