A month or so ago, my roommate wrote a letter to the PO of her congregation about the lawsuit settlements - http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/134349/1.ashx

Last night, before the meeting started an elder told her not to believe everything she reads on the internet. She knows it's true but needs some legal documents to show them.

The article she gave them when she wrote the letter was from the Houston Chronicle. I went to the silent lambs website and printed off the 14 page Rick Mclean case for her. I told her the WTS hates the internet because they can't control it. I also gave her the phone number of Love and Norris (attorneys). I told her to call them...they might not can give her detail information but they can give her some general information about what's going on. Do you guys know of anything else I can give her to show them as proof that this is true? It would problably do no good because these people walk around with their head stuck up there @ss.

In addition, I did get an e-mail stating that the Silent Lambs site is the best place to get any copies of the legal documents right now, but more would come in the future.

Good job! I can't help with the documents, though. These sorts of settlements mean very little will be printed, other than a settlement has been made.

I would email or call the newspapers that ran the article for an archive copy of the paper. Then she can show the elders the hard copy of the NEWSPAPER so it isn't the EVIL INTERNET. They will usually do this for free.

I had the same thought as sweetpea, get an original of the newpaper that ran the article, Hell give them the entire paper if necessary this way they won't think she "made it up on the net". Idiots

They just expect people to say ok, I won't believe anything I read or hear only what the BOE, GB, FDS tells me

And that includes anything you might read on watchtower.org
