Am I right in thinking that calling a clergyman's shirt a "DOG COLLAR" is not the accepted terminology?
Maybe this is why non-JW in the past always looked at me funny when I said this. I thought it was because they were worldlings and prejudiced against me.
Was I just using one of the Millerite epithets via Freddie, and being downright insulting?

When people start running out of actual arguments and logic, they resort to name-calling.
So likening people's spiritual leaders to dogs -- reminds me of the golden rule, do unto others. Or not.
Eeeekkkk, I thought they WERE actually called "dog collars" too. (I didn't know why, but that is what I have always thought they were called)
Some clergy that I know, DO call them "dog collars", but the accepted term is "Clerical Collar".
I think that the term "dog collar" has been so overused by people that no offence is taken.
Not the actual shirt - it's the little white strip that goes under the shirt collar - you can see just a little bit of it where the shirt buttons up
