Primarily the predictions were based upon the lengths of the various passages and chambers found within the Great Pyramid. Pyramidologists and their dupes used a specially invented measurement called the "pyramid inch" to make sure all their calculations came out as needed.

From a non witnoid perspective. They say the pyramids line up with the stars.

The same sort of reasoning that gave us the Pyramid alignments, correspondences and such are what logic refers to as categorical fallacies.
You can find "amazing" things by comparing any two people or events and cherry picking what you will.
The famous J.F.K. and Abraham Lincoln comparisons is a good example of this.

The 3 great pyramids are the same relative size and orientation when viewed from above as Orion's Belt, which is not to say that the Egyptians did or did not view the stars that make up the constellation Orion as a constellation or that they thought of those 3 stars as a belt like we do in modern times. However, the "belt" part of Orion is one of the most prominent and easily found set of stars in the sky. It is easy to believe that ancient peoples might have attached importance to that set of stars. Orion is always something I like to find at night, and it always starts by finding the belt first.
So there....pbbbbbt!
