  Now that we can prove that the WTBTS have been in bed with the UN for the last 10 years, we need to work out how we are going to use that information.

  I intend to use it sparingly but with deadly effect.

  It's simple. I am going to show the articles to my JW relatives and then I am going to ask them if they feel that an organisation that does these things is also qualified to (a) Decide who is or isn't a suitable person for JW's to associate with, and (b) Do they still truist this organisation to make other major decisions on their behalf ie with regard to having a blood transfusion?

  I know that the initial reaction will be hostile and one of disbelief, but in my experience this is just the sort of thing that will simmer away in a dubs subconscious mind for many months before he / she will even admit to themselves that all is not well at Brooklyn. Tick tick tick....

  Nobody that I know that is a witness will be affected by this news.

  Leave it out, Joelbear! Of course they will be affected!!!

  First of all they will say it is apostate lies / plot / smurfs, whatever, you name it.

  Then they will say that the brothers must have had a reason, probably to get spies in the UN or something equally stupid.

  BUT! It WILL cause a hoo-hah mentally for all of them, they just wont admit it, just like we wouldn't admit it to ourselvers when we first started to have doubts.

  Believe me JoelBear, this is MEGA. Wait and you see!

  One good thing about being an elder is that people stop and listen before they give you the excuses.

  I've used this on one person, with more to follow, and the result has been shock.
  I started by highlighting that the UN is the disgusting thing, the image of the beast, then asking why the heck we've been in bed with them for the last ten years!!!

  I may get the boot sooner than I wanted, but this is a real wake up call to many - don't underestimate it.

  Hi Englishman,

  On this one we'll just have to agree to disagree. I see this as a nonissue to the people I know who are witnesses and that I have knowledge of the way they interpret this type of news.

  In general, I continue to believe that the way to reach witnesses or any fanatics of any cause (religious, political or social) is to help them detach emotionally not logically.

  I'll stand by that way of thinking at this point.

  I recently read a book on how to effectivly witness to JW's..

  The premise of the book is that you must teach the JW to 'think' for himself.. Once you do that, they can begin to see the organization is not from god, but ruled by men..

  You do this by asking them questions that they cannot answer, specifically about the organization itself.. All JW's are trained in "bible warfare".. But the JW's are not trained to defend the organization.. That just isn't something they've ever considered before, so if you question the organization, it will require them to think about an answer..

  The book said even if you get a garbage answer, the fact is that you are training them to think..

  The book also stated that it usually takes 3 good doubghts in the mind of a witness before the 'veil' comes off, and they can see the organization for what it is..

  The book concludes that this alone is not enough, however. At this point you have to show them that there is something better out there for them...

  So, I think both of you are right..

  If a JW can see this information and disregaurd it without creating even the slighest doubght, then the JW isn't ready to have the 'veil' removed..

  If it puts a chink in their armor, then the information served it's purpose..

  If it's the final straw, then all the better..

  But, regaurdless of either, I think it is just as important that we don't lose sight of the fact that this information should be in the hands of the average person (non-jw), so, along with the pedophile and other instances, the average person can be warned of what danger can happen..

  I believe in my heart that JW's believe they are following god, even though we know they are not.. They are being led astray by the 'men' in Brooklyn.. Even if the information doesn't get people to leave the organization in mass numbers, maybe the information in some way can be used to protect others from joining the organization..

  While trying to help our loved ones out, we should also be trying to help the general public from ever being sucked in in the first place..
