I knew a son of an elder who used to love drinking and driving. He has just been made an elder! Praise the Lord!

Joy riding in a stolen car, crashing into someone's home.....funny the elder dad didn't step down, and the kid got private reproof. He was 17

I know of an Elders son who one afternoon was caught in bed with a girl, both using cannabis.
That night he it was announced he had been approved as a Ministerial Servant.
Years later I heard he had run off with some girl and got married in Las Vegas.

Most of the elders kids were nice,decent young men and women. I liked them then, and now that I know most of them have left the Borg, I like them even more. There was a MS family though that seemed ok on their face, but I later learned he beat the crap out of his wife.His youngest son married a friend of mine, and meeting her years later, I found that he followed in the footsteps of his father, being an abusive alcoholic. He is still in, she escaped. Surprise.

I was in a congregation where there were two baptized teenagers in particular who's father was the Service Overseer, and their grandfather was the Presiding Overseer. It was almost comical how much they got away with. The girl was caught using a fake I.D. to get into clubs and get alcohol. This was known among many of us in the congregation, yet no public reproof was made - only a slap on the wrist.
Her younger teenage brother (who didn't have a license) was caught hot-wiring her car at night to go over to his girlfriend's house. This became known to many of us, yet no public reproof was made. Then, he and a couple of the other guys in the hall egged a family's house in our congregation; with many people in the congregation knowing about it. Yes, you guessed it; no public reproof.
Many of us were really amazed at all of this. I guess you could say that blood is thicker than holy water.

one that makes my blood boiling is where this elder's son is doing now engineering degree, not to mention when I went to do mine there were all sorts of questions asked.
