Finally - some DVD interviews re: Kohl Productions available

  I few years ago Dr. Penton, Grace Gough/Mouthy and I were interviewed for a series of videos about t6he WTS, cults and the JWs.

  The goal for the interview series was to raise funding for a documentary about the WTS and how it manipulates the unwary as well as their own members.

  When I had my interview Dr. Penton and Grace had already done theirs and I know the Kohls (father and son) were on their way to do a fourth interview.

  Life requires you make some money so the project was put on hold while they took care of life's necessities. The first threee videos were available as VHS cassettes but recently the cassettes were removed. I emailed them and they said they were working on changing the format to DVDs and would have them available shortly.

  Well they are back online.

  And the Kohls have been very busy - far more than I expected. There are many new videos.

  I have only a slight idea of the amount of work the Kohls did to find people to interview, either go to where they did the interviews (I did mine in their studio) and then edit the tapes. My interview alone was edited down to almost an hour and a half.

  I ask that people who buy the files NOT make copies and give them to others or post them on a website. That would seriously hamper the fund-raising for the documentary these interviews are expected to do.

  For one thing the money will go to pay for all the work the Kohls did to make the interviews. That would include the traveling they did for many of the interviews. I think I am the only one that went to their studio. (I was traveling in their area at the time)

  The labor itself must have cost quite a bit and the time. Not only to do the taping but the editing.

  Personally I think they deserve every penny they get whether the documentary ever gets made or not.

  If the digital versions are as good as the VHS cassettes then you will be getting an excellent buy for your money

  I just want to make one more comment here about where the money goes.

  I did not get any money for the work I did. I doubt any of the other interviewees got any money for their pieces.

  If I spent 3-4 hours just doing the interview that would pay the Kohls less than $3.00/hour. Then they had to edit which would have taken much longer than it took to tape. Ultimately they would be making pennies per file.

  Please let us know when the actual dvd's are ready. I need actual dvd's to loan out to family members. I wonder if a library would take these?
