If so, What did you think? I watched this yesterday and I will reserve my comments till later. For now, I am currious if any of you have watched this yet, What did you think. (Mainly I stay quiet at the moment because it was so much to take in and well more than I can actually deal with right now without crying again.) It is all too familiar and the commentary below pissed me off a bit. A bit hardened I feel. Sad thing is, it is all too hardening. |

I saw it, amazing and disgusting. I also talked with the producer of the documentary: "Incest: A Family Tragedy."
Although this makes the headlines, what usually DOESN'T make the headlines is that about 95% of all molesters are members of one's own family, including relatives. That is too scary for most people to deal with, so often people are so afraid of their kids getting molested by strangers but won't talk about the dangers in their own family! Way out of whack.

That "priest" should be shot.

Is that the show where they exposed several of them including one from South America. One in SA abused a little boy and now villagers are shunning the family because they blindly believe the priest is innocent even though he had a history of abuse behind him?
It was here a few months ago, I remember seeing a video from O'Grady's hearing and couldn't believe how casually he spoke of all the abuse he did over the years, almost as if it was all a baseball game. The most shocking of all was church's deliberate and documented attempt to cover it all up. Not to mention protecting pedophiles inside the Vatican itself while there is an arrest warrant for them. It made my blood boil...

This film really was quite a trip to watch. It so parallelled what I saw covered up as a JW. The fact that the priest looked the other way if it was a girl molested and not as fast if it was a boy. BUT really they covered it all over.
Yes Zagor, he truly is a work of crap. He in the film is able to carry on with such detachment.
I don't think it is exposing anyone except for his story, but you have the priest spot on. Walking around in Ireland free now he is. Sickening. And the only justice the victims have really is to make this film.
Dogpatch~I agree, the insest thing is so very hidden and harmful. People need to open up and speak about it. Until they can, nothing heals.

I saw the film and was stunned to see that the priest was given an annuity and flown to live in Ireland. It's justice at its worst.
