This is one question that seems to bother Trinitarians because according to their definition of the trinity doctrine God the Father is not God the Holy Spirit and God the Holy Spirit is not God the Father. They are seperate entities existing in one Godhead. But the problem with this is that in the bible the angel told Mary that she would become pregnant by the Holy Spirit not the Father. But nowhere does the bible ever show Jesus calling the Holy Spirit his father. Some trinitarians that I have talked to about this will try and wiggle out of it by saying that God is one and all three persons function to accomplish the same goal. Another response that I have received from "staunch" trinitarians is the "change the subject" approach. They will say "see how can a person become pregnant by a "force"? But we are not talking about whether the Holy Spirt is a person or force I will usually tell them." And then I will ask them How can Satan be the "father of the lie" is "Lie" a person that has Satan for a father and who is "Lie's" mother? All in all trinitarians really do not have an answer for who is Jesus father? They will try and try to throw you off the subject but I persist and make them finally tell me they do not know how to explain it.

It is easy for both sides of this argument to invalidate the other side. I long ago stopped "debating" the issue because, in the final analysis, whether the trinity is or isn't "true", it's just a doctrine. That's all. It has nothing to do with people's behavior or "hearts".

If someone who beleives in the Trinity ends up loving his neighbors, living a quiet and peaceful life, loving his wife and children, what difference does it make? If you end up doing GOOD and fulfilling God's will in the process, why get hung up on something that no one can proove or disproove?
