I just wanted to share a great read with you all. This is the title of Christopher Hitchins latest book. What evr you think about his politics, he is a great arguer? against god and religion. This excellent read is actually more about showing religion up as being evil in its every manifestation, even ones that we might be tempted to label as good or beneficial. He does a better job than the christian apologist who wrote the book, When Religion Becomes Evil. This book, contrary to its title, is not an argument against the existence of God unfortunately. I think Hitchins thinks it is, but he really doesn't address it as well as others I have read. Anyway, it's a great read for anybody with a religious background. Highly recommended.

I have to agree with you. I finished the book last week and it was really good, and well written.

I think one of the strong points for me, in the book, is that we can wonder how we got here, if there is life after death, is there a god? These are things we do not need to know...............and more importantly, we CANNOT know them. A person can believe...............or have faith, but you can never know for sure.

"My atheism, like that of Spinoza, is true piety towards the universe and denies only gods fashioned by men in their own image to be servants of their human interests."(George Santayana / 1863-1952)

This book is 2nd only to "The God Delusion" on my list of favorite atheist reads so far. Even if I didn't give Dawkins extra points for pointing out the flaws in the Creation Book, I'd still put it in front. But not by much.
