Does anybody know or have any idea? My niece told me that they've reduced the District Conventions (English Speaking as far as I know) by two this year. Is there already a post on this somewhere? Does anybody have accurate numbers of just how many witnesses there are here in So. CA?

Apparently the convention was very packed today down in Long Beach . . . possibly more people than before b/c JW membership reduced.

Maybe they thought Snoop was performing in Long Beach that day.

I don't know how many Dubs are in SoCal, but I wonder how many Exers are there and in Phoenix.

I don't have any exact numbers but I do have to agree that there doesn't seem to be that many english conventions when you consider the population here.

When I was browsing the conventions scheduled here in SoCal, I immediately thought to myself that the # of english conventions was low.

In the late 80's at Dodger Stadium, we would max out at 45-50 thousand on Sunday for 2 english assemblies. The spanish had 1 assembly of about 50k. That would mean about 150k total for SoCal. In the LBC there is about 14k max per session I think. Not sure how many sessions.

Even if they have 15 thousand at each english, that would fall well short of 100,000 english j-dubs that attended in the 80s.

The distribution of the Circuits and publishers attending the Conventions is different, Sand Diego, Arizona and portions of Central California were coming to Dodger Stadium, but they are not in Long Beach. I think the attendace for the last 10 years has been on decline for the English and growing for the Spanish, that was the reason for the adjustment in number of Conventions this year.

Thanks Wilber for that info. Do you remember the reason for the org. gave for moving the convention location from Dodger Stadium to Long Beach?
