Well, it has been a bit since I poked my head up here.

Been hopping making the Aposta-Cruiser ready for her trials, I think today is the day.

Had to do all sorts of piddly stuff including flush the fuel system after removing three year old gas that resembled egg yolks. Worked on it with my daughter's boyfriend. Let's call him Frodo.

Frodo is a hell of a good helper. I can't believe those two, holding hands everywhere, snuggling on the couch during movies, her head on his shoulder in the truck...

    Young love.

They apparently discussed that term and decided it might be a tad bit early to be using the 'L' word, so they have settled on 'Adore.'

I dropped them off at an 'All Night D&D party' day before yesterday, then yesterday she went tubing with his family at a local river. She really likes his family, and they seem to like her. What's not to like?

I can't help but feel my days are numbered as her number one guy, but that is just the order of things. It's funny how something can break your heart AND make you proud simultaneously.

It breaks my heart to be replaced, but it fills me with pride the way she is going about it. Moving slowly, testing the waters, guarding her heart...

Wish I had shown that kind of sense!

So, between boat, kids, and reading Harry Potter 7, I've been occupied.

    Hey Dave,

I can't wait to get a peek at the Aposta Cruiser? Have you settled on a name yet (hint hint Midnight Blue - what a "Discovery").

I too am so impressed by "Frodo" and your daughter. Love by any other name is still.... well I trust it will work out well for them.

So did you skip to the ending of HP7 yet, or are you doing it the hard way?

I should have pics of the cruiser by tonight. Today is just trials, testing systems, discovering what it's like to launch and retrieve, and getting an idea of her character, the way she moves, the way she gets up out of the water and goes.

I would think the actual maiden voyage would be Sunday out on Lake George, after which names will be discussed.

All of your suggestions as well as others from the board and elsewhere are written down and will be fairly considered.

As for HP7, I read it in two days cover to cover. Loved it.
