YO! Wazzup? Rev. Natas (ULC) in the house.
I've been one for about nine years.
Rev. Lonelysheep, here.
The founder of the ULC, Kirby Hensley, used to have breakfast every morning at the same coffee shop I did. We spoke on several occasions and he was a real character. He started the 'church' out of disdain for organized religion and big government. A very scrappy little guy. A lot of people take the 'Ordainment' seriously but it really started as a joke that became a fad. Everybody wanted to have the "Ordained Minister" certificate. I think they originally cost $50.00 but are now free.
Is this the group that has a blonde woman as the head speaker? If so, I have a cousin that visited me when I was still a JW, and tried to introduce me to the teachings.....
I've really wanted an ordination from the Church of the Subgenius for some time, but put it off because it costs a few bux.
I really have to get my Urim & Thummin in gear and get this done for the sake of my everlasting pink soul.
YEARS ago, some friends got into Herbangelism. It was a fannish spoof religion that did not center around the use of controlled substances, despite the suggestive name (It was actually named after a cartoon character named Herbbie. I think they got me "made" in that House of Worship too. So many Gods, so little time.
