Today, I went to another one of my Asperger's Syndrome support groups. These support groups are supposed to be my home away from home, where I can voice about being different, and also the struggles of trying to communicate in a world that doesn't understand me because I'm Autistic and because I grew up as a JW and adjusting to worldly life, and I see a dub there. And an ironic thing is, she was at the support group on a meeting night.

Hi CRR. My step-grandson has Asperger's Syndrome. He just turned 9, and he was diagnosised only less than 1 yr ago. He is so very smart. My husband and I always knew something wasn't quite righ, but couldn't put our finger on it. I would love to talk to you about it. Maybe tomorrow evening, or after I get back from vacation.

Does the "sister" have it, or maybe her child?

Well, sounds like the issue must be important enough to her to MISS A MEETING!!!!!

Which is good!! Perhaps she is happy to have an excuse to miss a meeting! Even better!

But if she isn't... I'm sorry about it. I wonder if you might consider talking with the facilitator about this, if she is still gung-ho as a witness. It could definitely interfere with your own progress in the group.

    Just a couple thoughts.

Maybe she's as shocked to see you there as you are to see her.

Also, maybe she's there for some of the same reasons (beyond the syndrome), struggling with the WT.

You won't know she is really thinking until you talk to her, if you want to. If it's freaking you out, then as someone else posted you may need to talk with the group leader about a different schedule or something.
