I went to a festival on the week-end and I saw a few JW's there. Some saw me and said hello, while others looked away when they saw me.
Sometimes, I have only a fraction of a second to decide how I'll react. Either I say hello first, or wait for them to say hello, knowing that they might shun me and won't even bother saying hello in return, like one did this week end.
I'm pretty good at knowing who will shun me now....

For myself, there is no decision to be made. I try to be courteous to everyone but if some jerk decides to behave like a fool because I no longer hold to a decision I made as a 15 year old boy then I'll tell them what I think - still politely but also bluntly and to the point, after all, it's the last they'll hear from me.

yeah sucks. I get shunned by complete strangers all the time too.

I'd love to go to the hall, just to say hi to those who were nice to me and at the same time to SHUN those who shuned me but on their turf this time...yeah at the hall.
How can you tell who half of them are don't the womens wear vails in your neck of the woods.
Do they just pull their handkerchief on their face higher when they want to shun you?
