    The idea that earth life came from space dust or asteroids/meteors is totally redundent. That is because when the earth was originally formed, it was made up of those components that aggregated to form the original lump. And so, w the earth made up of said space dust, etc, life as we know it could have been integral to the earth. It could have evolved to an extent in mother earth's womb, so to speak, and slowly percolated to the surface to continue further evolution.

    This possibility seems to be ignored by scientists. It is possibly because it affects that other doctrine: the origin of crude oil. Scienctific dogma states that all crude oil came from dead plant and animal matter. However, w the abundence of hydrocarbon forms existing in asteroids/comets, which also came to form the earth, integral life within the earth would suggest that oil was also primordial. This suggestion upsets the oil shortage scare. If the scare goes away, questions as to why oil prices are so high come up, thus threatening oil corps' profits. Not sure if the conspiracy conclusion is totally accurate, but the preceding ideas are highly likely.

    Nevertheless, this new finding is interesting, to say the least.

    But I see what you mean; if these helixes form in the weightless vacuum of space, and earth was formed there as well, why would we need outside sources for this to have occurred?
