Ok, this is a short experience that happened to me the other day.
I went to eat at a local chinese buffet. I was sitting there eating my food, when a young chinese woman approaches my table carrying a metal briefcase, it looked like it was homemade and had pics of flowers on it
She said hello, and I knew immediately she was seling something. I looked at her and she had a nametag ID card hanging from her neck and it said "Unification Church"
She started talking and I immediately said "Sorry I can not buy anything from you, I refuse to support the Unification Church, they are a cult.
She looks at me puzzled and says "Cult, whats a cult? I said its a high control group. I realized that she didnt speak much english, so It was futile for me to carry on, so I just restated that I could not support the Moonies.
She went on to the next table and started her spiel, that guy told her basically the same thing as I did, except that he also told her that her leader was a false prophet, and that he claims to be better than Jesus. I looked over his way and said very loudly "Amen"
Well she went around to other tables and some guy was reaching in his wallet and handed her some money.
She disappeared after that. I just thought I would share this with you all.
I would have loved to engage her more in conversation, but I was busy tearing into that buffet as I was hungry, plus her english was very broken, or else she was playing ignorant.
My "Moonie" experience the other day.

Some people do not associate Moonies with Unification Church. They hear 'church' and think 'ok' not realizing who they are.

I had no idea they were one in the same.

when you see what a wacko like this guy Moon can accomplish in 60 years it certainly changes the way anyone should think about what the witnesses claim regarding having Jehovahs backing and how no fleshly organization could ever accomplish what "Jehovahs" organization has...
This Moon guy has universities, schools, builidings, millions of followers, etc. He built his first church with mud and cardboard after WW2 !!!
How the hell can people still pull this crap off???

I'm wondering why the management allowed her to do this.

Me, too. I think that's terrible that they let someone solicit the patrons while they're eating.

Wow, JG. I haven't seen Moonies in ages. I thought they had dropped out of sight.
BTW, JG, I am the Sandra that used to live in Dayton. Do I know you? Do you know me? You have a pm.
