Or How About When They Ask...

Where did you learn the truth about the Paradise, immortal soul, how many go to heaven, etc?

My answer would be: " I allowed an organization - claiming to speak for God - to convince me it had some special insight on the Holy Scriptures. I now realize that had I taken the time to research the organization and the Scriptures, I would have seen that much of this "special insight" is nothing more than the ramblings of a false prophet. I have corrected my error and I respectfully suggest you do the same."

I didn't learn the "truth" about any of those things - not from the JWs or any other religion. No one has ever produced anything more than mere speculation on those subjects. Words printed on paper by people I've never met does not qualify as evidence.

There's an old saying I remember: "The devil can quote scripture." Ain't it the truth?

Shakespeare, "The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose." is a line from "The Merchant of Venice" Act I, scene iii.

Don't you just love the information superhighway?
