    see:

Tegh Bahadur was a Sikh Guru in a time when Hindus were being persecuted by a Muslim ruler.

He sacrificed his life in defending them - a religion not his own.

He is an example of conscience and nobility - in a way that no Witness would ever do.

Reminds me of those brave White souls of the North and South who took part in the Civil Rights demonstrations right along with us Black people. I saw one White guy grabbed on the streets of Wilcox County Alabama and beaten mercilessly just because he was helping us protest against the unfair hiring practices of local merchants and the deplorable condition of our public schools. There have always been, and always will be, those who stand up and say, "This far and no farther."
