    Hello,

Any of you who have ever read the electrifying book by John Krakauer ‘Into Thin Air’, that related the tragic events of 1998 expedition to conquer Everest, will appreciate this work in progress song. It needs polishing and you will need to turn up the volume.

It is named 'Ghosts Of The Ascent'

Written by imho one of the most underrated lyricists/musicians in the US. He is admired and has written with and for Dylan, Jackson Browne ( he wrote 'The Road' on the 'Running On Empty' album ) and others.

I will pass your comments on to the artist - if they are positive!

Thank you from the bottom of my art - HS

How about "Lets watch how we walk"?

    Ballistic,

lol - Yes, how about 'Stay Awake, Stand Firm Grow Mounty'

Apparently a crisis took place in the construction of the present JW Songbook when somebody lost the rhyming dictionary. Remember the result?

'Young Samuel to Shiloh when weaned had to go
To serve in God's temple and there he did grow'

How we used to sing these songs without accompanying laughter is the subject for another thread.

Best to you Ballistic - HS

    Hey HS
I read that book, and I really enjoyed it. I can't make the link work though! Possibly it is my slow connection. I saved the link and will try in a few weeks, when I enter the true computer age with DSL

BTW Running on Empty is one of my favorite movies, and not many people have heard of it let alone know who wrote the soundtrack...I am impressed!

    Josephus,

Yes, I have. Alberta has some stunning scenery and good climbs. You will love it when you move. I believe our illustrious host Simon is heading for Alberta at some stage.

    Take care - HS
