Will the police soon arrest 10,000 JW pedophiles?

I am thinking that about 10,000+ JW secret pedophiles are losing a lot of sleep right now. They know the only thing that has saved their butt is the silence of the elders and their victim's families at the KH. They are probably watching the news very closely and the latest case in England will no doubt scare them. The elders at this KH did not actively protect Bro Porter. JW pedophiles must be thinking- "Do I turn myself in to the police first and hope for a light sentence or probation like Bro Porter got, or roll the dice and hope nobody decides to turn him into the police first?"

The WTS must be thinking this, too. What a WT public relations disaster is in the making should all these pedophiles get arrested in the next year and the newspapers/TV get wind of this story. I see the legal vultures circling, too. It won't be long before they start running advertisements for JW's who have been abused and were told to just forget about it by the KH elders. Lawyers talk and they are always looking for the deep-pockets easy-win lawsuit.

You know what I was thinking - maybe Pervy Porter's victims will bring a CIVIL action now. He IS guilty of the crime. I hope they're getting good legal advice!

Only the victims who are no longer JW might do this. If some are still JW, they'd risk their standing in the congregation (and their imaginary hope of eternal life) if they brought a suit against this monster in sheep's clothing.

Civil action is a real possibility. Once you plead guilty to the crime you open yourself up to a lawsuit for damages- of course the WTS can say the elders did it by the book and they are not liable on this one. But what about all the old Pedo cases that the KH has coverd up? Big rocks are looming up ahead ready to rip the bottom out of the SS Watchtower and sink her as a viable religion.

What I would like to know is why the gov or the FBI has not taken action on those files from the borg, that bothers me, police depts spend time and money on catching pedos on line, yet they could be just looking over the jw files to figure out who the pedos are.

Who says these pedos are going to be turned in? How do you encourage the victims to end their silence? Remember, they'll always go to their elders before anyone else...

"the WTS can say the elders did it by the book and they are not liable on this one."

Then the WTS can be sued civilly because they wrote the book, n'est-ce pas?

Moshe- When I talked with a local elder a p.o. in the area and he came to my door, I anti witnessed to him and his wife about the pedophile problem. I asked him point blank , " What is your policy on turning in or reporting child molesters to authorities ? " He said , " We investigate the report, see if there were two witnesses, then tell the victim and their family if they want to go to the authorities they can if their conciense tells them to. " I asked, " So you elders don't go to the authorities with it? " He said , " No. Not generally , however if I felt there was a need or if the child wasn't in danger, I'd probably go to the authorities. " Then I ripped him a good one , " I said, there is no probably about it. Of course the child is in danger. You as an elder should feel morally obligated to the child. " It's like arguing with a brick wall.

But Sir Nose is right, probably due to not wanting publicity, the elders won't be the ones to go to the authorities. It would have to be the families involved or the victim. And a lot of victims don't want to be victimized again by having to go over the details again. Opens wounds again and again. So all we can hope for is perhaps the families to push it for the sake of their abused relatives. It's a tough call

I heard yesterday that soon Texas will have no statute of limitations. I assume that means that if you ever molested a child, you can be made to answer for your crimes. That might scare quite a few of the jws and other child molesters here in Texas.

Gopher - tough choice. Remain a downtrodden dub OR sue for big money and be free of them. I always imagine that if a JW was abused, they'd leave the Org anyway. Spoke to a JW yesterday, and they put some of the responsibility on the CHILD/VICTIM.

Moshe - we must do Field Service some time
