Most people think, Great God will come from the skies, Take away everything And make everybody feel high. But if you know what life is worth, You will look for yours on earth: And now you see the light, You stand up for your rights.~~Bob Marley

no, no! see, it works like this: I say, "faith, schmaith", indicating that I've come to the conclusion that faith is a pretty worthless thing- - a truly silly concept. Then you, you come along and say, "I think faith is______" Where ______ is "stupid" or "necessary for a full life" or "just another word for suckered", or whatever it is you think about the word/concept of faith. Geez, didn't I make that clear in my first post, lol?

    OK, so, faith....schmaith.

    What do you think?

Faith in what though? What about faith in yourself? Most people have that, even the ones that are duped. Even though it started out as other people's ideas they essentially believe that their mind has identified the truth.

I think if you look closely, sometimes it is obvious that some people simply substitute one set of beliefs (religious or not) for another. You can have faith in science without knowing anything about it. I see very little difference between believing in something and believing that it is false, all other things being equal. Of course, in both cases you believe in yourself. It seems to me what most people can't handle, (for very long anyway) and maybe what they should do is doubt themselves. It's a simple matter of stating "I don't know." Even if an ex-dub agrees that it's not the truth, if they have the same attitude of "I really know the truth now" as they did when in, I'd have to say they haven't gotten very far.
