In "Observadors" thread, http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/141584/1.ashx a poster named "On The Way Out" mentioned being baptised at a YMCA pool. (Thanks for the thought, "otwo").

Has anyone else had this experience?

Is there a way to find any documentation on this? Would YMCA's/YWCA'S keep records of who charters pool use, and would this be public information?

This would be another way to show what hypocrits the W.T. are.

Join the "Y" and get df'd, but you can get baptised in the pool.

What statements are written by the W.T. regarding joining the "Y"? Is it concerning giving money to a "Christian " organisation?

Did the W.T. rent the pool for baptising j.w.'s?

You bet! I was baptised in a rented YMCA pool. Like the UN, it's okay if they do something with it, but not us!

Sorry, I was baptised in a non-demonized, non-pagan horse trough.

A dear brother in late 1990 died at a hospital forgotten and ignored by the elders in a local congregation. He had been baptized in uniform (Naval) the day he got out of the Navy. Now that is a new one, in fact there was an article in a watchtower/awake years ago about him but don't believe it mentioned being in naval uniform when he was baptized.

I remember people being baptized in a YMCA pool a long time ago--almost forgot. Is this still happening anywhere?

I was baptised in a YMCA pool for my second JW baptism, the first being 7 years old in a creek..

It's all about money, even more significantly selling KHs to one or other organisation of Christendom is fine as long as it brings in some cash. Isn't that promoting false worship?

Not if he had AIDS. WT rule. They have to be baptized in natural bodies of water that have some flow. I swear. I went to one a few years ago when the poor guy could not be dipped in the pool with the rest. Why couldn't he just go last for petes sake?

    more rules are better...oompa

It was common in our circuit to rent a pool at the Y, prior to the building of an assembly hall.

They even rented the basketball stadium at the University of Notre Dame for District Conventions for years.

Back in the 60's the Witnoids used to have assemblies in the Masonic Temple in Cleveland. So people back then were probably dipped in a masonic pool. But it must have been portable.
