Next week is the Annual Meeting of the Governing Body. What do you think they will talk about? What is the business meeting about?

Oh, and what to cut out next. Kingdom Ministries can be tacked inside the
"Members Only" WT. Calendars can be one page. No need for all the
color ink in books- pictures can be b&w. WT and Awake can be combined.
Maybe a new parking charge scam for Conventions can be recycled.

Pickings are getting slim. Maybe some more buildings are for sale.

Annual Meeting of the Governing Body. This is not strictly speaking true. It is the Anuual Meeting of members and GB members will be present.

Perhaps what next to make people's lives even more sterile than they already are.

Yes, as stilla mentioned, the annual meeting is a big event held at the Stanley Theater in New Jersey. Just imagine a circuit assembly sized event (about 2500 to 3000) made up of 99% Bethelites. It was a couple of years before I had enough seniority to attend the annual meeting. It is a whole day event comprised of talks by the Governing Body and other people like missionaries, Branch Overseers etc. Most of the GB speak on that day, or give a prayer. The subject matter of the talks are largely made up talks about Bethel issues, encouragement to long time Bethelites and maybe some missionaries. Sometimes, people come from Branches around the world to attend just to find out that it is nothing more than a glorifeid circuit assembly. World wide issues are also mentioned in the talks, the state of the society, where it's headed etc. it's really one of the more boring programs offered to Bethelites. Gilead graduation is another event very similar to the annual meeting, and is also held in the Stanley Theater. The annual meeting is known by Bethelites to be an opportyunity to invite family members to attend who are not Bethelites. After the ones with more seniority get all the tickets they want ( actually they are limited to four), then the rest of the tickets were divied out to the rest of the Bethel family. Newboys at the Farm are able to listen to the program from the Kingdom Hall connected to the factory there at Wallkill. Like I said, the program is boring. Basically it is a masturbation by the Society. Lots of unsubstantiated experiences that challenge my non-belief in magic. The Theater itself is worth seeing if you ever get a chance to go. It truly is a beautiful building inside and out.

Oh, and also in attendance are board members who have at one time invested in the Society and are share holders of sorts. but there is not very many of these folks still around, and it is no longer possible to become a share holder in the Society. I would say there are 20 to 30 share holders that come to the annual meeting. they are dying out now, many of them are quite old. At the annual meeting the share holders vote on who gets to be president. The votes are always unanimous and they always vote to re-elect the same people each year. I have never seen any dissent in these votes. I'm not sure what would happen if these members were to become apostate. would they lose their shares in the WTS? I don't know, but I'm sure the WTS has devised a way to shut them up and get rid of them.
