What is the explanation of this...???

  I would like to hear your theories on this. And I don't want this thread to turn into a debate if some people don't wtih someone elses explanaation that's fine just don't debte about it.

  I was out driving with my daughter last week at about 10pm at night. I was going to go make a left turn at the left turn light. I got into the lane and the light was green for me. But I didn't go thru I stopped. I looked at the lights to go straight instead of turning and they were red (which is normal) but the left turn light was definitely green. I thought to my self why am I stopping. I looked at the lights for the cross traffic and they were red. Just then I heard a car coming through on the cross street ON A RED LIGHT.!!!! after he passed I looked both ways and then made my turn. I would have been broadsided by that car if I had not stopped.

  Now I don't normally delay at traffic lights I am always in a hurry. What made me stop? I wasn't hearing voices. My brain wouldn't let my foot off of the brake. Why?

  My friend thinks it was God. I don't know if I can subscribe to that. Because why me out of all the other traffic accidents he could have prevented that day. If he even does such a thing. She said it was because he is a busy man. But when you're almighty you can do anything. and you wouldn't be too busy for anything.

  I am interested in hearing your theories.

  I think subconciously you noticed the other vehicle coming ,considering most of us drive on auto pilot and let our subconcious drive mostly anyway.

  Someday I will tell the story of my mom's precognition (early AM vivid dream, same day) of me almost dying in an airplane crash . . I came *that* close. She was the Superfine Elders wife at the time.

  Made me wonder about what powers we have that are untapped just below the surface . .

  God is just one of a billion possible explanations. Top on my list would be that it is absolutely reasonable to say that it was just a coincidence. Coincidences happen every day, even stranger ones than that. Another is that aliens pressed a time pause button in your head that caused you to stall your thinking faculties just long enough to miss the oncoming car. Another is that we don't know the limits of our own senses, and you happened to tap into our natural, but still unknown by science, sense of large moving objects in our vicinity. Another is that oue hearing is at times far more acute than we realize, and you actually heard the car coming, but it was so faint that you didn't realize that you were hearing it because we are not accostomed to paying attention to such small subtle sounds. another is that green gobulins from the planet Iktar were controlling your mind at the time. another is someone put a magic spell on you for your protection. i could do this all day, and they are all just as legitimate an explanation as the God (or as I like to call him "the invisible, mute superman with a beard and robe.")

  I think your were being extra cautious at that time of night. There are so many drivers that run red lights. Your auto pilot kicked in and said "wait a second or two"......you listened and it paid off big time.

  I tend to sit a second or two at green left turn lights, always checking the supposed on coming stopped traffic.

  In my entire driving history, I have never been hit, never been in an accident, or received a speeding ticket. (32 Years)

  I did almost put my Father's Ford Torino through his garage door when I was learning to drive, and almost made a fatal left turn in front of on coming traffic with my teacher in highschool....(thats when they use to have drivers ed) ...they had extra breaks on the passenger side for the teachers! I also made one more mistake when learning to drive. I made a huge wide left turn, pulling the car to the right and then into a left turn. My teacher tore me to pieces, and every time I make a left turn, I think of the lecture I received and know to make a clean left.

  Would a coincidence be too simple of a possible explaination? Us humans always have the tendency to complicate everything it seems.

  This kind of thing happens to me a lot. I go back and forth between the theories that it's coincidence, and that we humans have another sense to ensure survival that science hasn't yet discovered. I'm leaning more toward a sixth sense, as when it happens to me, it is a very strong feeling that I MUST do something. Usually, if I ignore that feeling, things turn out badly.I don't know what it is, but I tend not to ignore it anymore. This is one case where I'm not waiting around for science to prove the existence of whatever it is

  Maybe some of us are more aware of our surroundings...some have heightened senses.

  Maybe you heard the car coming, but it was heard subconsciously.

  That's the scientific explanation...there might be a supernatural explanation too, I am open-minded to either possibilty.
