Whoa, Badboy - writing a little drunk tonight?? Try that spell check button!!

But, in answer to your question, I was bothered very much by the new light about the sheep and the goats and the shepherding work in the mid-1990s. When a few months later, the WTS changed the whole 1914 Generation teaching, that caused me to leave the Witnesses all together.

Yeah, you might say new light bothered me quite a bit!!

Yefs bladboy, itreally plisses me off in ttthe sence thaat most newlight is bad knews, not good.

on a more serious note, why was there no new light recorded in the bible??? teachings did not change. light getting brighter would just make things clearer not totally frikking different. I will start a thread on this later. Jesus said the helper would show ALL things.

    Yes, Absolutely.

When I first heard about it, it was my parents who told me as they were visiting me. They were both elderly, and lapped the Society's words up like a dog on a hot summer day.

I could not fathom what they were saying. I said things like...but for years all I heard was "The generation of 1914...now all that has gone away? I was supposed to make my life around that prediction?" Then, I shook my head and said, "The light was never there, mom & dad."

And, that was the end of my fading, and the beginning of my apostacy.

Mostly when I was trying to sleep. New Light always comes at the most inopportune moments.

The new light was bothersome. Each ray was a nail in the JW coffin. With January 1, 1976 the silver bullet to the heart.

Short answer is YES! I'd always wonder why people get penalized for things that would later be subject to "new light". That never made any sense to me. Light getting brighter in a room just illuminates what's already there ... not changing the contents of the room!

My first real experience with "new light" came in the '90's with the generation issue. I thought it odd that the change in the Awake was made without fanfare. Like it was slid in so that no one would notice. I thought it corret to properly equip witnesses with the change to answer back at apostates. Also the articles kinda surprised me because my thinking at the time was that it was odd that something so central in doctrine would make a left turn so late in this system of things. My questions to the elders about how some people may have been of the opinion with the now current thinking, if they thought this b4 would they have been df'd? They told me to call Bethel or write them a letter and ask them.

It didn't bother me too much since I never saw any doctrines come full circle. And, as for the more technical ones, they were so confusing mostly because they are full of non-sequitors that make no difference whatsoever. It was the local rules and the way I was treated, not so much the "new light", that led me to slap them in the face.
