Many newbies (and some others) resurrect a file. They are reading older stuff and bring it up.
In just a year, I have seen resurrected threads that were several years between posts.This very moment, I could find the oldest post that ended and comment on it.

I understand the question as "time gone between any post" not only time between posts in a specific topic.
If you study the "active topics" pages, the most resent posts often are within minutes.
But to find the longest intermission, and be certain that it is not caused by downtime on the server...
I don't know.
