With all the anger I've seen here in the last few days, with all the snide comments, insults, etc. etc. I am humbly offering the following solution:
Since Simon is to kind hearted and allows everyone to post their opinions and viewpoints at will, I suggest we have him enlist the aid of Moderators from WOL & Greatcrowd.net to moderate individual postings and decide what should stay & what should go? Whadda ya think?
I think mods should only come into play when either there is someone who is making an all-out attack on the board and individuals with the aim of just making everyone miserable or in the case of someone who has simply gone over the edge and has so much anger and pain that it just overwhelms everyone.
What we read here the last few days was pretty damn ugly but in my thinking if people knew a big eraser was coming and that they could say whatever they wanted and be obnoxious as possible, they would have less incentive to be more controlled and civil. As it is, some people made complete asses of themselves and continue to do so but really don't seem to care. To each his own, I say but if I knew my dirty laundry was going to be on display for everyone to see, I would be more careful before sticking my foot in my mouth and engaging in all out flame wars or expelling mental vomit.
I did think Simon did the right thing by locking one or some of the threads because some people just get so caught up sometimes that they just revert to their reptilian brains and lash out at each other to no end.
Personally, my choice for action if something like this happens again is for other posters to point out how ridiculous and foolish their online friends are making themselves look, regardless of if they are "right" or "wrong" and if they can't debate things without reverting to insults, character assinations and the like, they need to buy themselves a copy of "How To Get Along With Difficult People."

You realize I was joking right? lol - I didn't know Simon had locked a thread - I think I'll pull that foot out of my mouth now........
Its too bad we are all so spread out. What we really need is a party. Ill bring the keg. Everyone can have one on me and we will all chill out. I am not sure why, but it is always easier to put things in perspective when your with friends, and have a cold one in your hand. I think communication is a lot better when people are actually together.
Maybe we could get our own version of Sturgis going. We can all show up in our 2 DOOR CARS and talk about what we thought "the new system" was gonna be like.
