One interesting unresolved question is what anarchist or fascist propaganda was Rutherford reading and how much was he influenced by it?

The US govt issued bonds to WW1 troops as a bonus payment for their service. Those bonds matured in the early '30's, of course the Depression was in full bloom. All those broke vets wanted to cash out the bonds and the govt wouldnt pay off, as the govt was broke.

The vets took over the Washington DC mall camping in tents and tar paper shacks. After a few weeks the Feds ordered Douglas McAurther (then a Col or Brig Gen) to lead federal troops in a sweep to break up the protest.

I am spouting this from memory. You detail freaks may want to look up the details. That attack was a dark day in American history.

I always though it said a lot about McAurther...he executed what many considered the classic "illegal order".

Rutherford...just spouting WT bs by making a reference ..........
