I wanted to alert people to a new article: A Critical Analysis of the Jehovah's Witness "Knowledge" Studies 1-5. If you'd like to read and/or link to this article it is available here: http://accurateknowledge.org/knowledge.html While I was living in New York City a few years back, the Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on my door. I ended up studying with them and became acquainted with their study series based on the book "Knowledge That Leads to Everlasting Life." I realized that that manipulation and misinterpretation in this study series needed to be exposed. I hope it might be helpful to someone in the future. sincerely, Dave Anderson AccurateKnowledge.org

Bookmarked the article. My JW folder is getting quite impressive!
Brings to mind 1Co 3:2 "I have fed you with milk, and not with meat..." Actually, I now feel I have been fed sour milk all along. Time for meat now:-)
Thank You...

Very nice. But too bad it's not in use for studies any more. Not to say that most of the material is not regurgitated in their current "new study" book.

What I had time to read is excellent, you have done a great job on it!
I have bookmarked the web site and will finish reading it later.

Hi MJ. Last I heard "Knowledge..." was a second study book with "What Does the Bible Really Teach" being the first study book. Do you know what the current protocol is? best, Dave

No, "Knowledge" was the first study book up until 2005, when it was replaced by "What Does The Bible Really Teach?". The 2nd study book is generally "Worship the Only True God", which is a replacement of the "blue" book (can't remember the title at the moment).
So the "Knowledge" book is pretty much relegated to the bookshelf. -

'So the "Knowledge" book is pretty much relegated to the bookshelf.' Thanks for that info -- first I've heard of it. Hmm, well all I can saw is I hope they've replaced it with something less effective. :) Dave

I read your analysis and I'm very impressed with it. You've done a great job pinpointing the key areas where they commit a fallacy of some sort. I've actually done a personal version of what you have done...having gone through the knowledge book study myself. But I must say you brought out some great points that I missed. I actually transitioned from that book to the replacement book, "What Does the Bible Really Teach?", when it came out in 2005. The replacement book covers most of what the Knowledge book covers, with a few omissions (No Faithful Discreet Slave teaching), and some subtle changes.
So by and large, most of the content of your analysis can be applied/transferred to the new study book.
Also, remember the 2nd study book is called, "Worship the Only True God", from 2002. PM me if you'd like more info on that one... -

Magic 101.
Misdirection, concealment and patter = Magic!
JW's began their Magic Act by trying to make Jesus appear in 1874. Instead, they made it okay for him to be permanently disappeared (without first appearing!) That is a double-trick.
Then, the sought to make Armageddon appear in 1914/15. What they succeeded in doing was to make Jesus re-not-appear in 1914 for the first time (even though he'd already done/not done it in 1874.
The Magic continued as 1925 sought to make ancient worthies appear. When they didn't it was time for misdrection and patter.
The same old act continued...
Armageddon was set to reappear in 1975, but; was turned into a disappearing act again.
The "generation" who would "never die" was made to disappear, however.
Misdirection, concealment, patter and the same old act continues.....
Except, the audience is chained to their seats now and the exits are guarded.
P.T.Barnum said it right, "There's one (sucker) born every minute".
