What's your oldest possession?
Meet my friend and oldest personal possession of 48 years. I bought her briefly after my first wedding when we were struggling to earn a living. That career with the Fuller Brush company in door-to-door sales lasted ten weeks but my nylon-bristled hairbrush was a $3.50 fallout (no pun intended) of that time. I've since lost my more expensive ($5.50) model, a natural boar bristle version that looked exactly the same but was more gentle on the scalp.
I was very confident going into that occupation knowing I didn't need to talk religion and it was interesting to see how different the attitudes of people were when their faith wasn't threatened.
My friend has, however, been serving me faithfully ever since the summer of '59.

That was actually interesting. I had my doubts when I saw the picture. Thanks for sharing.

I have a comb that I have been using since 1988. The ONLY comb. I won't use another one. I don't know why. This one just works too good. Call me weird if you want.

Those were the days when many JW's hadn't discovered the cleaning business. Selling Fuller Brush products was always an option, no education required.
Then, my application to a factory job was accepted -- Fisher Controls, Marshalltown, Iowa. Starting pay was $1.57 per hour. But it was regular and it helped satisfy our $10 week food budget.
Wife sold Avon products.
