Amusing Call from Elder. I kinda feel sorry for him

I've been gone for about a year now. Family and friends know I'm not a JW anymore. Yet I have never been disfellowshiped. I get a call from an elder a few days ago wanting to talk about 'my current situation', presumably to officially axe me from the church. A few months ago I wouldn't have cared, but I've recently been able to reopen dialoge with my JW family. Getting officially df'ed might impede this.

In other news, I'm doing great! My new hometown is fabulous and I'm adjusting to life outside the dubs better every day. JWD, and Ray Franz, had a lot to do with it.

    Thanks.

    Glad you are well Mav.

Do you think this new dialogue with your family is why he called on you?

Evade evade evade - your family is more important and certainly you don't have to answer to the elders any more.

Avoid this elder like the plague! Be too busy, out of town, sick, or anything else.

Too depressed is a real good excuse. Tell him he needs to back off until you feel better. Then NEVER feel better.

Sounds like you are an excellent candidate for a brand new phone number.

    I agree with Horty,

Evade. Do not agree to meet. Make up any excuse you can. Do not meet.

    They will give up eventually.

If you no longer consider yourself a Witness, then why meet with the elder? He has no authority over you anymore. I would just evade him and if you have to, only if he is persistant, tell him you simply have no interest in meeting with him at this time. If you should change your mind in the future, he will be the first one you will call. Then of course, never call him. Peace, Lilly

Don't take his calls, don't agree to meet, keep up the good work with your family.

    All the best,

Your 'current situation' is none of his business or concern. You've gone peacefully,,leave at that.

I agree with LovelyLil - the elders have absolutely no power over you!

Just tell him you have absolutely nothing you wish to discuss with him.
