In the dispelling of the grand illusion, was there any particular book or writer
that just made something "click" in the watchwork or your more rational self?
Although I must give credit to many eye-opening books over the past year,
the first and possibly in retrospect most critical literary link in of the
chain for me was "A Search for What Makes Sense" by Brian McLaren.
A thoughtful theist, McLaren's words felt like they were coming directly
from my own brain, but more articulately, and with a better vocabulary.
He writing slowly gained my respect, and his words, more than any other,
gave me permission to doubt.
The power of well ordered ink on a page is staggering.
