"land of milk and honey"

An elder said at last weeks Sunday meeting that "after the fast approaching great

tribulation, that Jehovah will usher us into a land of milk and honey." As I hear these

types of comments, which seem to be on the increase at the Kingdom Hall, I don't

know whether to laugh or cry. All of the Witnesses have seen the gory pictures of

Armegeddon in the Watchtower with its after effects. Having 6 billion dead decaying

bodies laying around, with no electricity, no cell phones, no running water, no

gasoline, does not sound like a land of milk and honey to me. Why can't the Witnesses

just stop and think about what they are taught? They are some of the most gullible

    people in world.

People are suckers for "hope". Religions like JW's are good at peddling it.

As for JW's they are blissfully ignorant of the logical consequences of their belief system, and they choose to be so. Dreamland is so much more fun.

What's even sicker is how much they look forward to watching those who didn't go in service and to the meeting and suffer like they are, die a horrid death at the big "A".

-Wouldn't the first thousand years after Armageddon be more like the Israelites' wandering through the desert with only repetitious and boring manna to eat?

They came out of Egypt = JWs come out of the world through Armageddon.

They wandered through the desert = JWs "wandering" through the mess of post-Armageddon, slowly recreating paradise.

They reached the promised land with milk+honey = JWs (after having been tested by Satan again!) reach the 'promised land' of eternal paradise.

Right? That's how I envisioned it.

I guess that's a harder sell than: "straight into a land of milk+honey" though.

    Good Girl or Bad Girl?

No way, I live in the land of milk (Humboldt Creamery - DELISH) and honey (that's Humboldt Honeys, y'all). So does that mean there will be lots of herb in the paradise? Doubt it.

They can't think for themselves. Many of us were once in that same boat. I used to always say and believe that this is the "best thing this side of paradise." I'm sure I heard it at 500 meetings and somehow thought I made it up myself.

Yes, JW's are so original and creative.

with only repetitious and boring manna to eat?

Awakened, I don't think manna would be so boring after all. Maybe it would be the best way to get beyond thinking about the dead bodies you are stepping over and picking up the bones.

Are Psychedelic Mushrooms the Biblical Manna?

Exodus 16:14-24 indicates that MANNA was definitely a MUSHROOM. It was a small round thing in the morning dew, it bred larva, and would melt to mush if not dried.

Fly's eggs cause larvae/worms in mushrooms. Daniel 5:3-5 with Exodus 16:32 and Hebrews 9:4 indicates that the mushroom was a DRUG. Those who drank from the cup containing MANNA had visions within the hour. Psilocybin takes 30-40 minutes to induce visions.

Hebrews 9:4 makes it clear that MANNA was the most holy thing to Israelites, kept in A POT OF GOLD in the ARK OF THE COVENANT, in the MOST HOLY OF HOLYS. Psalm 78:24-25 calls MANNA FOOD OF ANGELS, just as MAYAN/INCA PRIESTS from Meso-America called it TEONANACATL FOOD OF THE GODS. Coca and Tobacco Leaves found in Pharaohs tombs suggest it was ancestors of Mayan/Inca Priests who brought MUSHROOMS to Egypt.

MANNA is an Egyptian word, not Hebrew or Aramaic, meaning: The BREAD OF GOD. This is what Moses called it in Exodus 16:15. BREAD OF GOD equals: FOOD OF GOD, equals: TEONANACATL.

John 2:6-9 indicates that Jesus made water into wine by boiling mushrooms (Mushroom-Tea), the waterpots were made of stone, not clay, (stone pots were used for cooking, clay pots used for storing water)...

These pots already contained 2-3 firkins of a substance before the pots were filled with water. A "Firkin" is an Old-English measurement meaning a fourth part. Half to three-quarters of fresh mushrooms with water makes a potent tea. Tea is the safest way to consume field mushrooms, killing dangerous bacteria like E. Coli.

In the Atharva Veda, the Hindus called this Tea SOMA. Greeks called mushroom jelly AMBROSIA.

even Wikipedia seems to think so, too:

Manna (sometimes or archaically spelt mana), (Hebrew: ????) is the name of a food which, according to the Bible, was eaten by the Israelites during their travels in the desert; until they reached Canaan, the Israelites are implied by some passages in the Bible to have only eaten manna during their desert sojourn [1] , despite the availability of milk and meat from the livestock with which they traveled, and the references to provisions of fine flour, oil, and meat, in later parts of the journey's narrative [2] . The manna is also briefly mentioned in the Qur'an, with the Sura of the Cow [3] , Sura of the Heights [4] , and Sura of the Flattening [5] , mentioning the divine supply of manna as one of the miracles with which the Israelites were favoured; these passages only describe manna as being good things which have been provided ... as sustenance [6] .

Stands to reason this could be why they walked around in circles for 40 years!!

There are too many holes in their belief system and their teaching about Armageddon and the aftermath. I can't imagine any 'land of milk and honey' right after Armageddon.

For one thing, the way they teach it, there would only be devastation and dead bodies worldwide. This is too much to even envision. That would leave any survivors scrounging around for food. It would look like pictures of the aftermath of an earthquake with ragged people poking through the debris - only this would be everywhere, not just in one place. And never mind the disease from all the unburied corpses. Just think WWI with the spanish influenza which was thought to have originated because of all the thousands of dead bodies lying unburied all over Europe. Now, think of this on a world wide scale.

What would happen to the communications network, electricity, etc. If all the educated people got wiped out, who would build and man the technololgy needed to rebuild?? This would take time to do. Not to mention any really 'sick' people. Are they going to get an instant cure?? With no hospitals or medication around, what would happen to these people who would need immediate attention.

Maybe Jehovah is going to wave his hand and solve all these problems.

I was born and raised a JW, from 2nd generation JW's.... from early Rutherford's time, and maybe late Russell. Once everyone made it through the big A,....paradise was instantaneous!

The idea of paradise was that it was immediately achieved. All any one would have to do is garden....how many here do not enjoy gardening....especially with guaranteed results from God. No bugs, No weeds, no thorns, not anything like we experience now, because God had put a curse on the earth after Adam sinned....not in the new order.

Dead bodies, gone...eaten and consumed by birds and the carnivores......Homes available to all at their choosing, anywhere on earth. Probably already decorated and furnished....just pick your property, pick your mountainside retreat or beach front......better yet, pick you Hawaiin mansion, or ocean front property on Fiji, etc.

    Bavarian Alps your thing.....its yours.

While you are enjoying your new diggs, all your long lost, best loved, dead relatives will be streaming to your door.

Whilst, your favorite exotic animals will be eating grass in your back yard and run to greet you like domesticated dogs.

Think I am exaggerating?.....This is what I grew up on, and what my 73 year old mother still believes.

    restrangled....

That may seem idillyic and appealing to many people---no bugs, no pests, no weeds....

But a lot of those bugs are very necessary for pollination....not just bees. there are parasitic wasps, pollinator wasps, other miniscule bugs that invariably pollinate asthey trample around.

Many of those weeds deter certain insects from your crop and some a planted purposefully as a decoy.

Many of those weeds have mega nutrition and are edible. Many have health benefits and can remedy various diseases.

Have you ever stopped to look at the beauty of a "pesky caterpillar". The markings and coloration and design are awesome. What magnificent talent created such a thing?

And now you tell me they will all be gone? Those creatures are half the fun in my world. Each creature from ants to termites to worms have a valid purpose in the ecosystem. It would fall apart without them.

If these bugs and weeds are to be banished in the new system... if they are whats causing so much problem here...then who made them? Satan? Certainly God did not create such beauty and function to be destroyed because people have not learned to micro manage their environment???

This type of non-logical is probably why wbts oppresses higher education. Heaven forbid any of you should become botanists.
