How does your DNA keep up with time

Since something like DNA determines how long you live, how does it keep track of time? Some animals live longer than man, and some have shorter lives, what determines it's life span? What is time anyway? It seems everything is affected by it, even the universe. Have the scientist figured out gravity and time yet?

Sorry, my mind has been going nutty lately.

So what will happen to the telomeres when we enter the paradise and live forever?
The cells will presumably still divide to keep us young... so the telomeres will get shorter, until...? Or will they?

Glad I don't have to worry about that, then
