Maybe this just pertains to Southern Ontario, but have any dates been announced yet for 2008 District Assemblies?
My cousin asked me the other day if I had noticed that we still had not had an announcement for 2008 but that we HAVE had an announcement for 2009 International Convention. After our last DC the accouncement was made that there was nothing to announce as of yet for 2008 DC.
Is this just local? I have heard that 2008 Copps Colliseum was in question but is it deeper than that?
I would not knowm but it is with christmas & newyear here always anyway.....
That info is usually in a letter dated 12/15/XX to the elders....and read at the service meeting during the last week of december in connection with a Dec KM insert... i noticed that last year the letter went out very very late...i was still secretary back then...just coming off ....i think the borg is tightening the communications...
...BTW...some correspondence/letters is now coming via PDF emails to the CO then emailed to the POs and secretaries...saves tons of postage/envelopes/printing costs for them

I was wondering when they were going to start doing that. Especially since postage is .41 in the US. I know that they've been sending out letters in batches to save money and it just makes sense to send it to the CO via e-mail.
I know the last few years, the letter and outline for the pioneer meeting (that each congo holds in Dec) often didn't reach my congo until the first week or two of Jan.

If you don't want to attend the Service Meeting, the assembly dates and locations have been published in the March 1st Watchtower the last few years.

But the idea is to race down to the announcement board after the Service Meeting, get the phone numbers of the closest place to the convention site, whip out your cell phone and your Visa card, and nail a room at convention rates before that closest hotel fills up!
