Johhny Cash's music led me to the guitar and a love for rockabilly, R&R and da blooze..
I had to hide my music from my parents and the congregation. Like my grampa used to say . . "The nail that sticks up is the one that gets hammered"
His must be pretty liberal parents and congregation. I remember telling some after the Sunday meeting back in 1969 or so that the Blues was my favorite type of music . . one elders wife looked horrified and spat out "The blues is the music of the devil!" . . Har!
I bet bought Led Zeps first album AT LEAST 5 times . . each time the old man heard it or found it he smashed it!
Wish I followed my musical dream back then . . .
I am really, really happy for this kid, hopefully these are his first steps out of that mind f**king kult.

Dubbed,
Love your name and your avatar. I am a music lover too, hated to be told what I could not listen to.

this was interesting: "A Jehovah's Witness, he transforms his Friday, Saturday, and Sunday church services into miniature funerals."
