I have been around the JW's for a long time. We all know that there is not enough attention
shown to the elderly, depressed, and those in need of financial help in the congregations.
I have often said that the Witnesses show more attention to strangers by going from door
to door than to those in need in the congregations. Constantly I hear the comments that "I have to go in
service to get my time up or I need 10 more hours this month to meet my goal." They will bend over backwards
to make a return visit on someone who took the magazines for free, but will not go out of their way to
stop and socialize with the elderly in the congregation. I now have the answer of what the WTBTS should
do to fix the problem! Let the pioneers, publishers, and elders count time to call on the brothers and sisters in need.
Count the time to buy them groceries, cut the elderly's grass, pick them up for the meetings, take them
to the doctors. Let them count the time to have dinner with them or just hold their hand and
spend some time with them. If they could report this as time at the end of the month you would
see a big drop in the hours spent going from door to door and more time helping the congregation.
It would be a better place to be. Of course many churches already do this without counting time
because it is the loving thing to do.!!!
