Did the society do away with the Law Enforcement career ban?

I was just wondering. I thought I remember something where a watchtower said it was ok to carry a gun on the job.

I read your post, just don't know the answer to your question.

Years ago when the whole "no gun" thing started there was a deputy sheriff in a certain congregation; obviously he carried a gun at work. The local elders gave him six months to either find another job or find another religion. I wish I knew what he chose.

You can be in law enforcement as long as you are not required to carry a gun. Many people work in jails and prisons that do not allow/use guns.

Next question on the first day of deer season, why can jws have rifles and handguns, bows/arrows, to "hunt" when we live in a society where it is cheaper to buy meat at the market than pay for a $600 gun, ammo, and pay to have to meat butchered? It's not like the people in African cultures can afford a gun and hunt with spears.

One of the few JW's that I am still on friendly terms with is a DPS officer in AZ. In accordance with current policy, he has no "privileges" in the congregation, not even running mics, but is still an active, baptized JW.

On hunting, I suspect that were it not for the fact that in North America there are still many indigenous people living in apalling poverty and that hunting, for them, is both a traditional and economically viable means of putting food on the table, the JW's might well officially proscribe hunting. The idea of JW's trying to proselytize in an Inuit village on behalf of a church that forbade hunting would be beyond humorous.

That is what I wanted to here the city next to me is hiring police officers.

Bloundie, I can get a hunting rifle and 60 round of ammo for $200. Most hunters use cheap rifles unless they are gucci hunters.
