Five Full Weekends...

Have you noticed that certain months are pioneer months? Of course, the months of March, April, and May are always pioneer months because of the Crapmorial. Those are the months that they push everyone to pioneer, and just about say that everyone must pioneer.

Notably, there are other months. Every time a month has five Saturdays, five Sundays, or five of each, there is a Kingdumb Misery writeup urging everyone to pioneer those months. I remember 1989, when there was a writeup that September had five Saturdays and that everyone should pioneer (you will have to explain to Jehovah why you didn't pioneer when there were five Saturdays in the month). The very next month, there were five Sundays and they repeated the "Everyone Must Pioneer" story where anyone not pioneering when there were five Sundays in the month would have a difficult accounting to Jehovah to render.

They have done this every time there were five Saturdays, five Sundays, or five of each. This year, there are five full weekends in September and December, prompting the call for everyone to pioneer. Next year, March, August, and November have five full weekends; May has five Saturdays, and June has five Sundays in it. For sure, the Puketower is going to come up with a plea for everyone to pioneer all those months in the Kingdumb Misery or in the Kool-Aid Puketowers (likely in the Kingdumb Misery, since this is usually discussed in the Circus Meeting).

What they do not account for is that not everyone has weekends off. Most of the Witlesses actually have to work Saturdays and/or Sundays on a regular basis. Those people will not be able to spend extra time in field circus just because there are five weekends in a given month. They might have Tuesday and Thursday off because of the boasting sessions, and there is never a plea that there are five Tuesdays or five Thursdays (or on rare occasion, five of both) in a month.

Additionally, they do not account for the math. A person to pioneer (remember, this was when it was 60 hours a month) would have only been able to do it just because of the five full weekends if they were getting something like 48 hours in a regular month. The five Saturday pioneers would need to get 52 hours in a regular month; the five Sunday pioneer, 56 hours, in order to be able to make it without extra effort like the Tower claims. Most people get far less than that. I would, for a time, get 2 hours on Saturday and 1 on Sunday; this made 12 hours per month. If there are five full weekends, that added up to 15. Like most publishers, I could not without undue cost adjust my schedule so I could get out for 8 hours every Saturday and 4 every Sunday (which would be necessary for even the five full weekends to work).

This year, if they tell us that everyone must pioneer because there are five full weekends, five Saturdays, and/or five Sundays, they can take it and shove it. My "pioneering" is to post on this forum, and I don't think they are going to like what I am going to post here. The last I saw, there is no requirements on how many posts per month it takes to be a "pioneer". But I am sure it's a lot easier to make 60 posts per month, even one with only four Saturdays and four Sundays (and 28 total days) than it is to make 60 (or even 50) hours of field circus on a month with five full weekends and 31 total days. Instead of pioneering, I intend to become a Emperor Class member before my one-year anniversary and Supreme One class within 3 total years.

LOL....as a pioneer I loved having 5 full weekends in a month...because it usually meant I had one weekend free. But then I soon saw the practical value in always taking at least 1 saturday a month off just for me...that's why I never arranged to have bible studies on saturdays.

Just seeing that title made me feel sick! The feeling of here we go again - the whole guilt trip of are you or aren't you going to pioneer this month brothers and sisters??!!

So glad we don't have this s@*t in our lives anymore! :-)

Do I have to be in 'good standing' to auxiliary pioneer?

Does anyone know where I can get an application?

Do they still accept applications at the kingdum hall or has the FDS implemented a simplified arrangement for auxiliary pioneering during those speshul months?

    One last question...

    Is a blood test required?

In answer to the question of getting the applications, you will need to be in good standing. Anyone who has been reproved or reinstated within the past year is not eligible for pioneering (though they are often hounded to increase their hours). Inactive people might be ineligible for a time after reactivation.

You can get the application at any Kingdumb Hell. You will need to talk to the service hounder. Any of the hounders will be able to direct you to getting an application. And, no blood or pee test is necessary.

One word of caution. Once you fill in the application and get approved, you will be expected to get the requisite hours or have a damn good reason why you did not. And, if you do get the number of hours, you will likely be hounded to repeat the pioneering in future months. Often they will tell you that, now that you have shown us you can do it, you should be doing it all the time. And you should have been doing it all along. True, you can fake the hours. But, you have to be careful not to be too blatant about doing that unless you want Brother Hounder to show up and hound you about it.

And, is it really worth it? Count the costs. Then count the true benefit. If the cost exceeds the benefit, then it is not worth it no matter whether or not you can actually do it. Most Witlesses are programmed only to count the cost to see if they can do it, not to see if it's worth doing. I recommend counting both the cost and the benefits, and doing so objectively. Chances are that it will not be worth doing--especially once you realize that they are going to break the promise that there is untapped blessings galore waiting for you if you pioneer and complete it. There are no real blessings, so don't be fooled into that false promise trap.
