I know many here have published books, and I'd like some info about book publishers. I would really appreciate it if you guys could let me know of any publishing companies that do not charge an arm and a leg, or maybe a company that will read your manuscript, if it is GOOD, and publish for you.

I know Barbara Anderson used LULU, but are there any others? I'd like to check out several options.

    Thanks.....

    Tatiana,

No publisher should charge you, unless it is a vanity press. I believe LuLu has a set up fee, then they only take a percentage afterwards. If you have a manuscript, that is written well, you need to send query letters to agents and publishers ( www.writersmarket.com ). You can google "Qwery letters" to get an idea of how they should be formated, etc.

    Best,

    Bryan

What kind of book? Typically you send out query letters for nonfiction before you start writing. Fiction needs to be completed before you start looking for a publisher. Start reading "Writer's Digest" (monthly magazine) for tips. Also there are a number of books out there on how to go about it.

I'm still trying to get a novel published.
