Follow-up to Kingdom Hall burning down......

Since it's cold here in the Northeast, they'll remove everything down to the slab, and then do a quick-build in February. Of couse, they had their meetings the next day after the fire....don't want to have anyone get out of the routine of mind-numbing cult meetings!!! They are going to be going to Yorkana Congregation, and boy does that congregation need more numbers!! The last Memorial I was at there only 3/4's of the Hall was full. The subsequent few meetings I've attended there only 50% or less of the hall was filled. You could sit anywhere. I mean like 40 and 50 people, at most. So, this will be a huge influx for Yorkana. In the article, and also on local TV, they have been saying that Red Lion had an attendance of 150 people. This is a misleading LIE, stated to inflate the size of the congregation in the public eye. Yes, this was a large Kingdom Hall, and it could seat 150 people. BUT, it only had 150 members, about the same as Yorkana. So, we can all conclude that only about 1/3 of the people probably ever showed up; about 50-60 per week! lol...what lying, misleading, swindlers they are!

Anyone guess which poster I am? lol....pretty obvious I guess. Since my parents passing, I'm really getting a resentful, angry, spiteful streak in me about being raised in this relgion and also about how duped my parents and myself were. I think this is mostly from the lack of Christian love that was not shown to me during both of my parents illnesses and deaths. Not ONE JW has sent a card, letter, called, visited, or contacted me. I am not DF'd or DA'd, as I was never baptized. I was never reproved or disciplined for anything. I feel totally abandoned by them in my hours of most need. So much for showing Christian love and concern, huh?

We'll be getting together soon, WC.

    Thanks for the update.

I think you nailed it as far as attendance.

I bet both congos had about 40 for their TMS/SM.

    LOL!

    Nate

It sounds like they didn't need that Kingdumb Hell anyways. All they needed was the money from selling the damn thing (or the insurance from having it burn, though it was too new for them to do that with). They are going to have a hard enough time making the mortgage payments with only 50 or 60 attending, and eventually it is going down some more. Hopefully, even the combined congregation will have fewer than 50 attending on a regular day.

The article said that the fire was a result of faulty installation of the recessed lighting. Gee, sloppy workmanship at a Quick Build(tm)??? I'm actually suprised this doesn't happen more often. Then they go and brag about how quickly they can throw a new building up. How about slowing down a touch and make sure things are done CORRECTLY?

I wonder how the KHAA handles these situations? Does the congregation continue to pay the same allocation per publisher or if you have a loss, does your "insurance" go up like with a normal carrier?

As a Former JW I commented on this article too.

I wonder if the Red Lion publishers will be expected to fill out slips with the $$$ amount they are willing to donate every month to the NEW Kingodom Hall they think they will need?

Either way...the WT corporation will benefit from it.
